HOW YOU CAN HELP

HEARTS ACROSS NEW HAMPSHIRE
Join us in celebrating 60 years of Community Action Success
Since 1965, Community Action Partnership of New Hampshire (CAPNH) has been a beacon of hope and support throughout our 10 counties. Born from President Johnson’s “War on Poverty” and the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, we’ve evolved from our early focus on emergency assistance to offering over 50 services through nearly 20 distinct programs reaching nearly 111,638 people annually.
ā
For six decades, Community Actions have taken a whole-family, whole-community approach, providing weatherization, energy assistance, early childhood education, transportation, food access, health outreach, family resource centers, newborn navigation, diaper distribution, domestic violence coordinated entry, housing support, homeless outreach and prevention, and more. We don’t just respond to crises; we invest in long-term solutions and self-sufficiency.
ā
This May, in honor of National Community Action Month and our 60th Anniversary, the five New Hampshire Community Action Agencies are proud to band together to host Hearts Across New Hampshire to showcase the wide-ranging impact each of our agencies has on Granite Staters.

We invite you to join us and learn more about the important work we do!
Educate
One of the most impactful ways you can help is to educate others about the impact of poverty in our communities. Through the Community Action Partnership of New Hampshire you can request a speaker for your civic group, faith community or other organization. We can also provide you more information about issues of poverty for research purposes.

Advocate
Another important way you can help is to advocate for policies that will help support people struggling with issues of poverty, such as local and regional efforts to create more affordable housing and accessible childcare. Talk with your elected officials and other leaders to let them know that these policies create a better community for all of us.
